Student Work

First Year Reading Experience Poster

Incoming freshmen of the University of South Carolina have a book assigned to them and are tested on it in their Freshman 101 class. 2006's book was "Mountains Beyond Mountains" and we were asked to interpret the book as a poster to be put up all over campus. This poster came in second place in the compititions among the submitted posters. - This was my "Ah Ha" moment for graphic design. I finally felt like I knew what I was doing and that I could actually do graphic design well.

Social Awareness Poster

As college students, there are a lot of eating disorders around. You either know someone who has one or have the disease yourself. Either way, it's a BIG issue. The black "static" of the poster is meant to represent the constant negative thoughts that run through the mind of the person who thinks they will never be thin enough. And it's the negative space that makes the idealic hourglass shape that women are striving to obtain.

2006 First Annual "Senior Show" Theme

Our class was the first to put on a student art show for the seniors. The theme presentation of the show was our final project of the year and which ever group's theme got the most votes won. Our theme was a more modern take of Boys vs. Girls and how your sex doesn't determine your "body" of work.
